Conference Theme

The conference highlights actual case studies of various challenges and solutions in private equity investments in Hong Kong and China. Participants will meet speakers with extensive experience in Hong Kong and China including: a Chinese CEO who will take his company public in Hong Kong in 2004; an American lawyer who has taken a Chinese company public on NASDAQ; a senior financial advisor leading a merchant banking project in Beijing; a Hong Kong-based "virtual logistics" company and others. Biographies

Zhiguang Tong, Senior consultant to China Institute for International Strategic Studies. Mr. Tong served as a member on the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress of the PRC, Chief WTO Negotiator of Chinese Delegation, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, and President of China Import and Export Bank.

Ping Chen, Founder and President, Zhaijisong Express. The company has developed from 7 employees with 3 trucks to 6,000 employees with 1,000 trucks in ten years and has become the largest private 24 hour delivery service in China. Zhaijisong Express anticipates listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2004.

John Holden, President of the National Committee on United States-China Relations. With 18-year of business experience in China, Mr. Holden was active in the American Chambers of Commerce in both Hong Kong and Beijing. He was elected chairman of the board of governors of the latter organization in 1997.

Peter Levesque, Co-founder and CEO of Hong Kong-based V-Logic Ltd., has over 16 years experience in international transportation and logistics experience and is a leader in virtual logistics.

Scott Li, Adjunct Professor, William Patterson University. Mr.. Li possesses over ten years of experiences in venture capital operations in China, involving all aspects of review, research, and valuation process. He sat on many boards of directors and has had close observation of corporate activities of Chinese SMEs.

Mitchell Nussbaum, Partner, Loeb & Loeb. Mr. Nussbaum focuses on corporate and securities law, with particular emphasis on representation of U.S. and foreign entities in financings and federal securities law compliance. He represented the first Chinese, Taiwanese and Thai companies to list on the American Stock Exchange.

Anthony J. Walton, Partner, McFarland Dewey & Company, LLC, a private investment banking "boutique" based in New York City. Mr. McFarland Dewey focuses on private equity and debt placements, corporate sales and acquisitions and corporate strategy. Mr. Walton is responsible for the firm's international business.

Xiaolin Zhou, Managing Partner, Junhe Law Offices. With 20 year's experience in government work and private practice, Mr. Zhou focuses on advising clients doing business in China. His clients include many Fortune 500 corporations, banks, insurance companies, foreign law firms and international organizations.
